Analyse
The character called Karen in the short story „locker 160“ by Lee Busselmann ist he first – person narrator and a pupil at school.
She is a girl with a lot of ideas, one the idea is to bully a classmate. This classmate is Miriam. Karen has the idea to write a hate note to Miriam. At first she doesn´t want to putthe hate note in Miriam´s locker that´s why she wants Julie to do it, but she is also afraid. So Karen finally does it. Hile she is walking down the corridor she feels nervous and insecure. This becomes obvieous when her hands are trembling so in fact she is a coward and she is not as cool as it seemed. When sshe did it she feels good and for her it waas easy. SHe and Julie want to see Miriam´s reaction and her suffer to get a kick. The „burst out laughing“ (l.31) and are „giggling“ (l.32). After this first trick the continue with their tricks and this tricks get more and more worse. The next trick against Miriam is that Karen and Julie put a open bag of marbles in her locker. After this they make a voodoo doll with a carotte as body and an oniopn as a hat. WHen they finished the doll they put a a hat pic into the onion. This voodoo doll Karen and Julie take in Miriams locker. The next and last trick ist hat they collect the signatures of the class and put it in Mirima´s locker again. But when they wait for her they hear a teacher who tells another teacher that Miriam wants to commit suicide. But instead of regret what they have done they both laugh!
Dear Mom and dad,
I don´t know what I have done that some other pupils bully me. I don´t want to live anymore! I hate my life. The others don´t respect me! But I don´t know why. Yes, I´m different than the other girls but nevertheless I´m a human being and I haven´t done something on them. Why they don´t let me alone? They have wrote hate notes to me! I am sick of being alive. I don´t stand it. I hope you understand my decision. I don´t want to live anymore. I want to to die I want my peace. My classmates hate me and all the others too.
